Menopausa
Pre-/menopause is a particular time for women which, together with other factors, contribute to weakening the pelvic floor. Damage to this muscle can be:
- of the anatomical type (prolasso)
- funzionale (incontinenza urinaria e fecale, dolore cronico)
- post surgery (prolasso e/o emorroidectomia)
Easily the woman undergoing menopause notices urination disorders such as mild urinary incontinence (when coughing/sneezing or running). They are related to excessive relaxation of the pelvic floor.
Other discomforts can be vaginal dryness and vaginal burning which can improve with the rehabilitation of the pelvic floor muscles.
Therapy
- awareness for the pelvic floor muscles
- Kegel exercises (toning)
- muscle and coordination training through Biofeedback
- muscle strengthening through electrostimulation (Vaginal tension)
