Hot Stone Massage Origins
This massage has been influenced by two main schools of medicine. Derived partly from the Indian Ayurvidic medicine combined with a massage performed by the native inhabitants of Arizona. It has become renowned in the United States of America and has adopted the modern name – the “Hot Stone Massage”.
The massage involves the use of 72 different volcanic stones. Once the stones have been heated the massage itself can commence. Stones of different types and sizes are carefully placed on the corresponding reflex zones of the spine. As they sit their heat energy transfers slowly to the body, more specifically, the back. This results in a relaxation of muscle contractions and aids any pain discomfort.
Subsequently stones are placed on receptive energy zones on the front of the body, also known as “Chakras”, warming them also and furthering the inflow of strong energy to the vital body zones.
This procedure amplifies blood circulation while eliminating toxins and cellulite cells. It also effeciently relieves lymphatic problems and aids in the reduction of gasses stored around the abdomen. The massage can be performerd in combination with cosmetic products to further improve on any skin tissue problems and tone the body.
